Because this is an unincorporated area that grew subdivision by subdivision, there is a great deal of undeveloped desert left between neighborhoods, and that is where the scorpion population actually lives. A treatment applied only to a house is treating the last ten feet of a much longer trip. We work these properties from the wall inward, sealing weep holes, gates, garage seals and tile roof ends, treating the wall base and the granite where scorpions shelter during daylight, and only then dealing with the structure itself.
Verification matters more here than anywhere else we work. Bark scorpions are invisible in daylight and completely obvious under a black light, so we do a night sweep on scorpion accounts rather than asking a homeowner to guess whether things have improved. In monsoon season we adjust timing, since a storm pushes centipedes, toads and scorpions out of flooded ground and into yards within hours. A fixed monthly schedule ignores that. We would rather come when it matters.
